Production Engineering

course overview
The academic Master degree study programme “Production Engineering” is implemented by the Institute of Manufacturing Engineering of the Faculty of Transport and Mechanical Engineering of Riga Technical University (RTU) in close cooperation with other structural units of the University. This is the only study programme in Latvia where students are awarded the academic Master degree in manufacturing engineering. The programme comprises subjects of fundamental sciences, as well as special field subjects in two specialisations:
- Apparatus engineering and;
- Mechanised production and control.
Sub-directions of the programme serve as an academic basis for Doctoral studies and studies in related branches, for independent scientific and applied research work, career growth of the teaching staff in the respective profile study programmes of Latvian higher educational establishments. The programme is also envisaged for specialists and leading staff of engineering plants who are willing to enlarge their theoretical knowledge, to acquire and develop research skills in the field of Production Engineering. Alongside with special subjects the study programme makes it possible to master humanitarian, social and management subjects.

Entry Requirements
1. Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate and Transcript with good results, particularly in mathematics and/or physics. Education documents must be accompanied by English translations of all certificates and transcripts along with approval of the documents authenticity;
2. If English is not your native language, all international students are required to provide a proof of English language knowledge. Preferably you should submit one of the following certificates with a minimum scores of:
If none of the above applies, but your studies at secondary school were in English Language, provide a confirmation letter from your school, unless it states on your secondary school certificate that medium of instructions were in English Language. In case of any doubts, RTU reserves the rights to ask for an official language certificate as listed above.
3. Students applying for master programmes will be asked to record a video interview.
