The study programme “Civil Engineering” has been developed in line with RTU Strategy and requirements of the study field “Architecture and Civil Engineering”.

 

Students develop the envisioned skills and competences under guidance of academic and research personnel with European qualifications, who in their daily work render expert services at the national and international level, as well as highly qualified academic staff with many years of professional experience.

 

The study programme facilitates the development of the overall education export potential; it is aimed at promoting interest in education in the field of civil engineering. Innovative teaching and learning methods are employed in study programme implementation – special focus is made on the development of practical skills and active use of modern technologies.

The Nursing Studies Course Major Award will provide you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to apply for a Nursing Degree Programme through the CAO and UCAS in General Nursing, Maternity Nurse, Mental Health, Intellectual Disability, Children’s or Social Care in Ireland and UK or work as a Qualified Healthcare Assistant. 

What will you experience

You will gain an understanding and awareness of the roles and responsibilities carried out by a Professional Nurse and the importance of interpersonal communication.

 

The Nursing Studies course is structured to provide you with specialist knowledge, skills, and competence for those who intend to enter the Nursing profession or related area.

 

You will study core areas of nursing and will put theory into practice through participation in work experience.

 

Note: Grade O6 in ordinary level Math’s is mandatory for entry to Nursing Degree programmes in Ireland and Grade O5 in Ordinary level Math’s for entry to UK Degree programmes. You will have the opportunity to discuss your career options with a Career Guidance Counsellor who will support you if you wish to apply to nursing degrees through the CAO/UCAS.

Entry Requirements

Entry to this course is by direct application to Dorset College with an interview held thereafter through our online facility.

 

The Application Steps:

Complete the online application form, upload your documents and you will be requested to pay a minimum deposit of €150. 

 

We will contact you and arrange a mutually agreeable time for an interview. The purpose of the interview is to establish your suitability for the programme. We will provide you with details of what is involved in terms of study and commitment and answer any questions you may have so that you can make an informed decision.

 

This course is open to;

  • Mature applicants with relevant life work experience
  • Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent or appropriate QQI/FET Qualification (if you are under 23 years old).

 

Requirements include:

  • Photo ID (Passport, Driving Licence etc).
  • Copy of Leaving/Junior Certificate standard or appropriate QQI/FET Qualification (if you are under 23 years old).
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency for Non-Native speakers (If you do not have a certificate, please request an English interview for free with us).
