The study programme “Civil Engineering” has been developed in line with RTU Strategy and requirements of the study field “Architecture and Civil Engineering”.
Students develop the envisioned skills and competences under guidance of academic and research personnel with European qualifications, who in their daily work render expert services at the national and international level, as well as highly qualified academic staff with many years of professional experience.
The study programme facilitates the development of the overall education export potential; it is aimed at promoting interest in education in the field of civil engineering. Innovative teaching and learning methods are employed in study programme implementation – special focus is made on the development of practical skills and active use of modern technologies.

The programme will also give an introduction to agile approach and techniques and how they can be used to foster innovation

Introduction to Leadership
Analyse the evolving role of leadership over time, to include current and past examples of good leadership and its impact on the turn of events. Evaluate leadership styles and approaches in a range of public and private contexts, including leadership dilemmas, the need for leadership in all aspects of life, and the impact of personal and public ethics, morals, and values.
Personal Leadership & Project Management
Understand leadership and how individual differences influence personal leadership style. Demonstrate leadership skills in your chosen environment, including reflection on personal experience and progress.
Communication
Apply skills in managing people, resources, projects, as well as an introduction to research and communications techniques
Leadership & Change Management
The academic environment is constantly changing and evolving and at times present challenges. It is important to understand the importance of leadership and management and commitment of staff performance to achieve positive outcomes. Looking at the major models of change management to lead your team successfully.
Time management
Manage time efficiently, set realistic deadlines, prioritizing tasks, balancing the workload effectively and delegate responsibilities when necessary.

Study progression
Successful achievement of the CIPD Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning and Development will allow progression onto the CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management or the CIPD Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Learning and Development.
